UGC & Reviews - FAQ

Here is a list of common issues and frequently asked queries:

In This Guide

How do customers upload photos/videos?

The review photos/video submission is part of the review request email and it is shown on the next page after the customer has submitted the written review.

Here's how the process goes:

  1. The customer receives the review request via email, fills up the form, and submits the review
  2. Stamped will then prompt the customer with an option to upload a photo or video based on the settings and the subscription plan you subscribed to. The customer can proceed uploading the photo/video or just skip the step
  3. Finally, the customer is redirected to the thank you page where they can share the review on the popular social networks–Facebook, Twitter, Linkedin and Pinterest

Do note that the Photo & Video submission process is not available with test emails. You are welcome to create a test order to see how it works.

How much time does it take to index rich snippets?

Once Google crawls your site, the rich snippet codes will be indexed and shown in search results. This process may take at least 1-2 weeks. In the meantime, you can test whether the integration is correctly done by entering a product with reviews in this testing tool - https://search.google.com/structured-data/testing-tool/u/0.

How do I customize the display widgets?

Stamped lets you design the display widgets by choosing the colors of your choice, set up the filters and copy the codes directly through the Stamped Dashboard: https://go.stamped.io/v3/#/settings/widgets/display.

If you want to customize an existing display widget, you can either customize it through CSS or replace the widget code with a fresh display widget code from the same page.

Please take a look at this article to learn more about the Display Widgets. Should you require a guide on the installation of the display widgets, we have one available for Shopify users - https://help.stamped.io/article/619-installing-display-widgets.

Alignment of Star Rating Badge and basic customizations

Customizing the look and feel of star rating badges

The look and feel of the Stamped’s Star Rating Badges are automatically rendered from the theme style. If you want to customize, you can do so by using custom CSS.

Aligning the star rating badge to the center:

To align the star rating badge to center on a product page, you can simply use the following CSS code in theme.liquid file.

<style>template-product .stamped-product-reviews-badge { display: block!important; text-align: center;}</style>

Updating the color of star rating icons:

You can update the color of star rating icons by adding the following code in theme.liquid. Make sure you update #000 with the color code of your choice.

<style>.fa-star, .fa-star-o, .fa-star-half-o, .stamped-fa-star, .stamped-fa-star-o, .stamped-fa-star-half-o {color: #000 !important;}</style>

Hiding the star rating badge’s caption

<style>span.stamped-badge-caption { display: none !important;}</style>

Hiding the star rating badge when there are zero reviews:

To hide the star rating badge when there are no reviews on a product, simply copy the following code before the body tag in theme.liquid.

<style>.stamped-main-badge .stamped-badge[data-rating="0"], .stamped-main-badge .stamped-badge[data-rating="0,0"], .stamped-main-badge .stamped-badge[data-rating="0.0"] {display: none;}</style>

Customizing the Main Widget

How do I customize the Main Widget?

You can customize the look and feel and enable or disable different elements on the main widget as directed in this article.

How do I change the placement of the main widget?

Normally, Stamped or Stamped support advocates install the main widget in product.liquid or product-template.liquid files. You can look for the code in those files and move it to a location of your choice.

Hiding the main widget when there are zero reviews:

To hide the main widget when there are no reviews on a product, simply copy the following code before the body tag in theme.liquid.

<style>#stamped-main-widget .stamped-container[data-count="0"] {display: none !important;}</style>
